About Us
Glen Park Community Centre exists to offer a friendly, supportive and welcoming environment for all people in our community, and to promote personal growth through social, recreational and learning opportunities that are accessible to all.
History of Glen Park Community Centre
In the 1980's Maroondah City Council transported the former Bayswater Primary School to Glen Park Reserve. The adjoining building was purpose built meetings rooms, computer training room, kitchen and dining area.
In the 1990's funding from the Department of Human Services, ACFE and Maroondah City Council enabled Glen Park Community Centre to develop as a community organisation.
Today Glen Park Community Centre is:
A non-profit organisation, managed by a volunteer committee and part-time
co-ordination staff. Supported by funding from Department of Planning and Community Development, Maroondah City Council, Adult Community & Further Education and Fundraising.
Glen Park is a registered provider of Adult Community Education and a variety of programs are offered to appeal to a range of ages and interests. From leisure and recreation, to pre-vocational and accredited courses.
Glen Park Community Centre aims to actively encourage participation by people of all ages and all abilities.
The centre does not provide childcare but the area is well serviced with childcare facilities available nearby at Arrabri, just a few minutes drive from Glen Park
